Leiz hails from Des Moines, Iowa, where she juggled literature, visual arts, and playing the sousaphone for many years. She is currently a senior at the University of Iowa, though she's not sure where the past three years went. When not answering to her 15-lb cat's every whim, she's a barista at Cortado and executive chair with the organization Hawks' Union for Students' Rights.
