Want to free your writing this summer? Read on!
Are you between the ages of 11 and 14? Do you love to write? Are you ready for an unforgettable summer adventure?

For the first time ever, the Iowa Youth Writing Project is offering a camp JUST FOR YOU!

WRITERS UNBOUND is a hands-on, multi-genre writing camp for the adventurous at heart. For five glorious days in August, campers will engage in playful generative writing activities, dive into various elements of craft, and break out of the traditional classroom to write and explore in the UI Stanley Art Museum, the Writers' Workshop, the Literary Grove, and more.

Join us as we chart the lively waters of fiction, poetry, playwriting, and screenplay. Camp runs from August 11-15 and will be based right at the heart of our beloved writing hub, the University of Iowa.

This is the IYWP's FIRST summer camp since 2019, and we can't wait to share the magic with you.
Some details for families: Writers Unbound campers will work with one expert instructor and 1-2 IYWP volunteers. Every day, we will explore a different element of craft and a new literary landmark on or near the University of Iowa's campus. Camp runs from 8:30am - 3:30pm each day, with optional supervised before- and after-camp care for a small additional fee. To culminate the adventure, families of campers will be invited to a reading and celebration on the afternoon of August 15th.

The IYWP is committed to making camp accessible for every adventurer. If campers need any accommodations to participate, or if you have any questions about the camp program more generally, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us at iywp@uiowa.edu. We'd love to hear from you!
