After careful evaluation and consideration, due to ongoing funding challenges CLAS has made the difficult decision to discontinue the Iowa Youth Writing Project effective December 31st, 2025.

We are proud of the work IYWP has done since 2010 to bring creative writing workshops to young people in our community and around the state. This decision is in no way a reflection of the dedication or effort of the staff of IYWP—only the realities of the resources required.

We are deeply grateful to all who’ve helped and supported the IYWP over the years and contributed to its impact and legacy.
